Corporal Wisenor was a member of the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on August 13, 1950. Corporal Wisenor was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Ernest J. Wisenor. 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wisenor, Route 3 Rayville, was killed in action with the United States Armed Forces in Korea. His parents have just received official notification of his death, having been notified on July 13, 1950 that he was reported missing in action. The only news received since that time was by his wife in a letter from one of his buddies saying that he was killed in action July 8. 1950.
Cpl. Wisenor re-enlisted in the United States Army October 14. 1949. Before entering the service he attended Rayville High School and was a member of the Alto Baptist Church. He is survived by his parents, wife. Mrs. Georgia C. Wisenor, living in Centralia, Washington, one brother, Lynn Wisenor, West Monroe.
