Fred Odell “PopPop” Sapp, Sr.
Services for Mr. Fred Odell ” PopPop” Sapp, Sr., 83 of Start, LA, will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Crew Lake United Methodist Church with Pastor Marshall Sevier officiating. Interment will follow in Start Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville.
Mr. Sapp was a member of Crew Lake United Methodist Church of Start, LA. He served his country during the Korean Conflict, in the United States Air Force, and retired from the Illinois Central Railroad. He loved to garden, loved his flowers, watermelons, and purple martins. He was also a die hard Saints Fan, and loved to spoil children. He was preceded in death by his parents; John and Rhoda Sapp, four brothers; J. R., George, Thomas, and Huey Sapp, and one sister; Lize Hall.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dolores Sapp of Start, LA, son: Fred O. Sapp, Jr. and wife Denise of Start, LA., grandson: Landon Sapp and wife Andrea of Monroe, LA., and great-grandson: Jacob Sapp of Monroe, LA., and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers are: David Ray Davis, Delbert Crow, Kevin Eppinette, Maxie Eppinette, Lynn Word, and Percell Green.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Buddy Copeland, Pat Patterson, Bentley Curry, Walter Garner, Billy Whitten, Jimmy Fuller, and Leonard Sullivan.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21st at Crew Lake United Methodist Church in Start, LA.
